Christian Women's Job Corps of McLennan County

"An opportunity to grow from dependency to self-sufficiency"

CWJC of McLennan County was organized in 2004. Since then, 10 classes with a total of 78 women have completed classes in a free 14 week training course. Classes consist of Bible Study, Job Readiness, Personal Discovery, Computer Training, Money Management, Communication, Parenting Skills, Health and Nutrition, and Boundaries. Upon graduation several participants have become employed at companies such as Auto Zone, Baylor University, Walgreens, Providence Healthcare, and NuTone Cleaners. Other graduates choose to continue their education at McClennan Community College or Texas State Technical College here in Waco, Texas.

Participants must complete an application and a short interview before being admitted into the program. The classes are free and lunch is provided by a team of volunteers. Women must be 18 years of age and are required to be free of drugs and alcohol.

Volunteers are needed to serve as mentors, classroom teachers, prayer warriors, and lunch providers. For more information about signing up for classes or serving as a volunteer call 757-0416 or take a look at the CWJC website at www.cwjcwaco.org
