Orvel & Lois Edington Earle Missionary Home

In 2001 Waco Baptist Association learned that Mrs. Lois B. Edington Earle, longtime member at

Western Heights Baptist Church, had left her home to the association for the use of Baptist

missionaries on stateside assignment.  A committee was formed to set policies for the house and the

house was listed on the missionary housing list of national WMU.  Edna Wood in the association

office was named contact person for those seeking information about the availability of the house or

       making housing reservations.

A number of individuals and churches gave assistance in preparing the house for its first occupants:

painting, cleaning, pruning, mowing, removing trash, etc.  The WMU women from across the

association gave a linens shower for the house supplying sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, kitchen

linens, etc.  Other individuals provided dishes, glasses, stainless flatware, lamps, furniture, and the

       manpower to move the furniture.
